Get a BE Driving License for a Passenger Car with a Heavy Trailer and B96
To drive with a trailer, you need to know the differences between different types of driving license. With a regular B driving license, you are only allowed to pull light trailers with a total weight of 750 kg, or where the combined total weight of the car and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg. If you have a B or extended B (B96) license, you can drive a vehicle up to 4,250 kg.
When the trailer exceeds 3,500 kg in total gross weight or when the trailer’s gross weight is no more than 3,500 kg on its own, a BE driving license is required. With the BE license, there is no upper limit on the total weight of the vehicle combination or total gross weights, as long as the total weight of the trailer does not exceed the approved towing weight of the car. The BE driving license license gives you the freedom to drive heavy trailers, heavier trailers and multiple trailers or types of trailers legally and safely.
Training and Driving Lessons at Traffic School South of Stockholm
Our driving school located south of Stockholm offers customized driving lessons for those who want to get a driving license to pull heavier trailers. During your lessons, we go over everything you need to know about maneuvering, safety checks and load securing for both the car and trailer.
Before you start your practical driving, you must apply for a driving license permit from the Swedish Transport Agency. Once you have a valid driving license permit, it is registered with the Swedish Transport Agency, and you can start practicing with your car or light truck. Our experienced teachers will show you how to handle the car and trailer safely, check the car’s registration certificate, and fulfill all requirements based on your existing driving license. You will learn to drive a passenger car with a heavy trailer safely in all situations, including driving in traffic with multiple trailers.

The theory test and driving test at the Swedish Transport Administration
To get your driver’s license, you must complete both theoretical and practical parts at the Swedish Transport Administration. The training includes both theory and practical parts to ensure that you pass the entire testing process.
You start with the theory test (theory test), where you demonstrate your knowledge of traffic rules and weights for a car with a trailer. After passing the theory test, you take the driving test (driving test / driving test) at the Swedish Transport Administration. During the driving test, the inspector assesses your safety check, maneuvering and how well you handle pulling a heavy trailer out on the road.

4. Måste jag ha ett giltigt körkortstillstånd för BE-körkort?
Ja, du måste ansöka om körkortstillstånd och ha ett giltigt beslut hos Transportstyrelsen innan du kan boka och genomföra körprovet eller teoriprovet.
